Last Night Kell Brook Became The Most Over-Rated Fighter in Britian.

Ok here it is. Kell Brook is 31-0 (21KOs) but for the vast majority of his career he has fought domestic opposition and journeymen. I personally think Brooks best win comes against a past his best Mathew Hatton, who imo was never all that. Brook has gone life and death with joureymen such as Carson Jones and he was shook to his core against Senchenko (his big step up). After the fight last night people were ready to anoint Brook a world champion, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Brook is a very tidy fighter that does everything ok but I find him one paced (which makes him easy to time) and he has a very leaky defense. I believe when Brook finally steps into a ring with someone that punches back he is going to get Knocked out.

    Your thoughts?

He was shook to his core? Calm down. He was caught on the temple, was buzzed for a few seconds and was fine....then stopped the other guy a minute later.

Brook is a very good fighter with a great jab, good variety, good power and good timing. There's room for improvement defensively, that's all he needs to tighten. Most over-rated by who? Sky Sports were happy for him and called him ready for a world title fight - he is.

He went life and death once when he gassed, absolutely. He still got the win and went back and smashed Jones in the rematch to set it right, cool.

He is definitely good enough to be a world champion... i can think of many worse world champions than what Kell would be...

Problem is I don't see him beating any of the current world champions as he definitely won't be a great.

Lol I'm calm. Yes Brook recovered quite quickly but if he was in with someone that could finish i.e. Maidana or Broner, I believe he would have been taken out. I don't believe Brook could hang with Porter or Alexander. I want to see him in with Julio Diaz.

Yeah Kell seems to only fight at one pace ,hes good at what he does (decent power, pretty good timing) but against top welterweights i think he will eventually come unstuck.

however if there was ever a time to get him a world title shot now is the best time while hes confident. Ive always had a feeling Brook is just world level (only just) but hes lower tier in my opinion.

A temple shot doesn't really worry me in that sense.

Carl Froch has an iron chin, but even Carl was buzzed by a temple shot last time out. Not saying Kell has a great chin, but being buzzed for a few seconds on a temple shot is alright. Recovery time in that position is important, Brook's was quick.

I fully believe Brook beats Broner, just the match-up suits him for me. He would handle Diaz with ease, he's average at best. I think he'll get a world title.

Nobody is proclaiming Brook to be the GOAT, he just put in a great performance last night that proves he at the level to challenge for a title or fight the top five boxers in the welter division.

there's really nothing else to this...

Say it ain't so! Once again this is why the ts subject title holds true. People actually think this kid is a top fighter in his division and p4p up there. Kell freaking Brook, another English hype job.

I know, Brook beats up an old man in Senchenko who holds no credible wins and now people believe he can win world title at welter. Fair play, let him have his shot, god knows you don't need to earn it these days but Brook is going to get smashed to pieces if/when he faces anyone in the top 20.

I'm not even 100% sure that Brook could get past Frankie Gavin.
