That's why the ref is supposed to push them back by the mid section. What the fighters did was nothing new. What Smoger did was out of line.

I just got a chance to watch the fight and kept thinking the same thing. At one point I swear i heard Smoger say "beautiful bernard" after hopkins landed a right hand i don't know if thats really breaking rules but refs should keep comments like that to themselves during the fight he was def in there as a Hopkins fan
