ShoBox never had a huge following but it was a nice bump in pay for espn fighters, and was a great bridge for going to Showtime or HBO.

At its heart ShoBox was a place where two up and comers met and one moved forward. A lot of fighters careers made a big leap because of that series. Haymon and GBP essentially destroyed it as soon as they got to Showtime.

Showtime is quickly looking the same as HBO was when it was at it's worst, overpaying for crap fights, and being forced to pay fights no one cares about. And matching up haymon opponents that no one cares about.

There isn't one fight on any of these cards that anyone has ever asked for, all of sudden because it's a bunch of names people here know, you guys acting like these are amazing cards. There really not. Extremely interested to see what Showtime paid for this.

Very true, there were a lot of fighters that made the jump to win world titles form that show and they put on the not ready for prime time fights.

Also always thought Farhood was a good boxing guy

Its funny as hell to me when folks on here say "Broner isn't PPV worthy." My question ya'll is, who exactly is PPV worthy. I don't know about ya'll. But, the only reason I subscribe to Showtime and HBO is boxing. And it pisses me off when I basically have to pay these mutha****as twice to see certain fights. I don't give a **** who it is. Floyd, Pac, AB, JMM, Bradley, and whoever else can all go to hell for asking for so much money that the networks can't afford to put them on premium TV. Unlike some of these fanboys mutants that infest this site. I get ZERO personal satisfaction in having my five figure yearly income double charged to insure that these clowns make eight figures in a night.

So does this mean Broner is a big Dud on PPV ? He tries to sell himself in acting like Floyd, but the guy is nothing but a dumb clown that is why you don't have Elvis impersonators living in mansions such as in Grace Land Memphis Tennessee . Keep it real Broner act your self cause there's only one Floyd

Why don't they just say what they really want to say. They all knew Broner as a ppv headline was a bad idea and that it would flop.

All this means is that GBP convinced Showtime to fork over enough money to put the show on regular Showtime. The only reason the fight was originally gonna be on PPV is because Showtime likely has exceeded its yearly boxing budget. They probably lost money on Floyd-Guerrero. And considering all the money they spent promoting Floyd-Canelo, that event likely didn't net them as much as we think. They're likely completely tapped out on the year as far as funds for boxing. But Shaefer likely convinced the folksat Showtime that putting this one on free TV, while giving it a PPV level promotion, will pay huge financial dividends when they match AB with Floyd next September.

I don't know who expected Broner to sell 1 Mil PPV in his 1st fight; people complained about it being on PPV now because it on free TV its I told you so.

that's a good move by sho.

i think they got threatened by the nov 30 hbo fight that's why they cancelled that card altogether.
