As reported earlier on BoxingScene.com, a proposed fight between junior middleweights Alfredo Angulo and Jorge Melendez will not be happening.
Angulo-Melendez was expected to be part of a Dec. 14 card headlined by Adrien Broner vs. Marcos Maidana, a show initially set for pay-per-view but now will be four fights aired on Showtime and at least one more on Showtime Extreme.
Melendez, according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, essentially priced himself out. “So we moved on,” Schaefer told reporters on Oct. 26. “So we moved on.
