Hatton wants Floyd. Floyd doesnt want Hatton. That's why Floyd fights losers like Gatti, Mitchell and Judah instead of stepping up to the plate. Hatton has come out in the press and said that he wants to fight Floyd, that he HAS to fight Floyd in order to go down in history like he wants to. He has said that he will fight Floyd anywhere. Floyd on the other hand has said that he categorically will not go to Manchester to fight Ricky and has been taking easy fights instead. Hatton is the Ring magazine's fighter of the year and his last two fights have been for major belts, one of which was against an awkward puncher coming off a good KO win, the other was against one of the best 140 pounders of all time. Now he wants to fight Baldomir, the recognised undisputed champ at 147, whereas Floyd wants to fight the idiot that lost to him. Dont get me wrong, Floyd has got ALL the skills, and I dont understand why he wouldnt want to fight Cotto or Hatton as IMO he would probably win both. But the fact of the matter is he has no heart for real battle, and that will (unfortunately) always hold him back from true greatness.
hahah floyd offered hatton, hatton said he wanted a few us fights to get his popularity up.
I'm definitely not suggesting that PBF hasn't got heart, but why not fight in the UK? There'd be more money I'd bet (Hatton is huge news over here) and Hatton is the linear champ at 140. Even though I think PBF is P4P the best boxer in the world he hasn't beaten anybody top drawer at 140 or 147. I hope he does soon.
hatton does not want to fight in the uk anymore. he has a three fight deal in the us, he said thats where he wants to build his fanbase and thats where the money is at
I don't disagree that for Hatton he's looking to expand hs appeal stateside and become possibly the biggest draw in the world, but there'd be a bigger crowd for a Hatton Mayweather fight in the UK right now.
Thats why I don't put any weight on Mayweather offering Hatton a fight now and Hatton rejecting. Mayweather was demanding at least a 50:50 split of a pot that could be bigger in the future for Hatton to fight abroad against a guy with less money appeal than him. Of course he's gonna answer no then.
Maybe I've got this one wrong but when people claim they know about fight offers and whos rejected who and why I start to roll my eyes.
I think when Hatton fights PBF he will lose and PBF will have all but secured his legacy (which he should have anyway at 130 and 135). But all this Hatton is scared is absolute ****, the guy is an animal in the ring, I've never seen him shaken once. Even when he's angry its almost inperceptible.
hahah floyd offered hatton, hatton said he wanted a few us fights to get his popularity up.
floyd offered hatton and put a 20 million dollar pricetag on himself to fight in manchester. that's as good as saying you don't want the fight at all. I have a link to prove that.
He has said that he will fight Floyd anywhere. .
Here is some proof for you...NOT from Mayweather's mouth:
Hatton said: "There'll be more pressure to fight Mayweather now from the Americans because, obviously, there's one less big fight out there for Floyd Mayweather now Zab Judah has lost. But a fight with Mayweather has always been very high up the agenda for us; but we still want one or two fights in America before we get to Mayweather. If anything, Judah's loss has make us even more attractive in the marketplace."
But Hatton believes his son needs the experience of fighting abroad before he takes on the super-talented three-division champion Mayweather.
He said: "Richard needs the experience of training aboard for a fight for the very first time, getting used to that, he needs to have the experience of doing everything the American television and media will expect him to do, getting used to the different time zones, fighting in front of an American crowd - all that.
"And I don't want him to have to deal with all that for the very first time and fight someone like Mayweather as well. Richard isn't a big head, he's got no ego on him, and he will tell you himself that Mayweather is the biggest danger out there for him. That's why he wants to fight Mayweather most of all now he's already beaten Kostya Tszyu, who was the No.1 before Ricky beat him. So, when Richard does fight Mayweather I want Richard comfortable with where he's training and everything else that goes with having a big fight in America."
****** here is ANOTHER example of Ray Hatton declining a fight:
Father and business manager openly admitted the turned down the chance to at least negotiation for a Mayweather fight in 2004. "That was the one fight, style wise, which I thought we needed a few more fights before taking," said father Ray Hatton. "But now Ricky has gone up to the top level with Tszyu and got the big win, there's no-one I wouldn't put him in with and not feel confident that he'd beat."
Coyote Duran: I can see how that would work in the end but you'd think now that Ricky Hatton would feel like he was wasting his time against a Carlos Maussa since he beat the real champion.
Frank Warren: I would've thought so. I mean, prior to that fight, I had offered him the (WBO titlist Miguel) Cotto fight. I had offered him (WBC titlist) Floyd Mayweather. Even Don King and I spoke about (Undisputed Welterweight Champion) Zab Judah. But when he went out to Atlantic City to see the Maussa fight, he wanted the Maussa fight. To me, it's a belt and I can understand, as a fighter, that he'd want that belt, but let's be honest about it. Kostya Tszyu vacated that title and Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tszyu. So, on the same list as Joe Calzaghe, he was the #1 by Ring magazine. Who cares about that (WBA belt)?
Coyote Duran: Right. Hatton doesn't need Maussa's belt. He's the man.
Frank Warren: I agree with you! I agree, but I was willing to make the fight.
NUMBER THREE:
G. Leon said that Hatton turned down several offers.
I think the Folks at ********** are a bit more knowledgeable than you.
That's "boxing tee ay el kay dot com"
So there you have it. 1) Ray Hatton, Ricky's father and manager admitted it, 2) Frank Warren, Hatton's promoters said it, 3) an independent boxing writer said it. 4) the boxing blog wrote it on Feb 18, 5)

PROVE IT....
i JUST POSTED SEVERAL links that prove that Hatton was the one delaying the fight. And in one instance they turned the fight down even BEFORE negotiation.

"Floyd Mayweather, the WBC champion, even suggested he would want $20m to fight in Hatton's backyard - which is as good as saying he doesn't want the fight in Britain at all."
gotta say, as a big fan of both fighters, I consider that what the old timers called 'graceful ducking'. they called it graceful because you can go home and tell your friends you offered him and he declined, without speaking of what the numbers were. I dont blame floyd for doing it either, I wouldntve taken the fight in manchester either. it would've been a ****** move on floyd's part, and he's no fool.
hahaha get up to date
Hatton said that exact thing on friday night fights. he said his next fight is in may in conn. at foxwoods, which i may go to. he also said he wants to take another fight in the us THEN fight floyd. Hatton is the one biding his time, floyd would fight him now
