he sat on a f#cking chair during the weigh in. he was drained.

his stomach is literally ****** in in that photo. that's not healthy, certainly less so than a stomach that simply has a six pack and doesn't pull inward. the stomach gets like that when the body is starved.

it wouldn't have mattered, as floyd would have still boxed his doors off, but he was drained.

I remember watching at home, when he stumbled after he missed that jab it was clear as hell to me, the dude is drained, he has no chance, he looked lightheaded and dizzy, weak, pawed his punches, and looked as big as Floyd ffs.

What kind of fighter who claims to be better than Muhammad Ali drains fighters to fight for the 154lbs title? And don't bring up Pac, he was moving up for those catchweights. Floyd competed at 154lbs twice before so why have a catchweight.

Drainelo is a good fighter and will be back when he can be Canelo....
I watched it in slowmo on a 4k projector and I refute this claim. He wasn't drained at all

he was drained. he was a very big, bordering on huge jr mw, who was asked to drop an additional two lbs.

why drop him 2 lbs? mayweather works with goldenboy. he can get amazing information on canelo's ability to make weight. they knew that the extra 2 lbs wouldn't kill the kid, but that it would provide a distinct advantage.

the weight wouldn't have had an outcome on the fight, but it's wrong to believe that canelo wasn't effected. again, what 23 year old pro athlete needs a chair?

To answer your question why drain him an extra 2lbs? Because every extra pound you drain him is an extra pound he probably won't put on on the night of the actual fight. From a fighter who is notorious for coming in 20lbs over on fight night, it's good to get him down a few pounds to make it more fair. So instead of 167lbs for instance, they feel they can maybe have him at least at 165lbs on the night of the fight.

Draining fighters and cheating is the Mayweather creed.

Look at his whole stable of fighters, they are all cheaters.

If you want to say he was drained a bit alright that is fine, I am sure dropping the 2 pounds was not great for his energy level.

Still I would say the main advantage of having him drop those extra pounds is that he has to put in all that extra work into that as opposed to working on the important stuff like plans and ideas for how to get after Floyd. Now given the total lack of ideas both from him and his corner I don't know if all the extra time in the world would help him

he was on a chair at the weigh in, bro. that's the chief advantage of a catchweight.

                      he is.

he was the top ranked jr mw after beating cotto. alvarez was at #2 after he beat trout. the top two guys boxed off for a vacant lineal championship, and floyd won.

there's no better way to determine a champion during a vacancy than having the two best fighters in the division fight each other.
