Martinez seems set on cotto and Arum is cool with that.... no doubt they make that first.
If that fight even happens, it's probably early next year

Agreed. He'd fight GGG much like he fought Abraham. Difference here is that Golovkin is a better boxer and technician than AA.

This is a terrific match-up, but you have to wonder if GGG can carry the weight.

The Vegas super-fight is really with Chavez as he and Froch are the draws in and around the division.

As to who wins between Golovkin and Froch, imo it depends on whether Golovkin's power carries up and whether he can take a shot from a natural SMW opponent. Judging by sparring stories against bigger fighters, I'd say it probably does. I favor Golovkin to win by KO, maybe even as early as the 4th or 5th round. I don't think this is a good plan for Froch, great fight for the neutral boxing fan though.

Just my personal opinion on the bout.

Froch has said he walks around at 172 or so, he probably walks in the ring about the same weight. Golovkin weighs 170. He could do like Pac did at welterweight, weigh 164 or 165 so he isn't putting on too much.

Froch's height would definitely be an issue, though.

And Froch's reach as well. It's telescopic!

Great fight. I'd favor froch in this fight. Golovkin has never beaten anyone nearly as good as froch. I remember I argued that froch was a p4p better boxer than montiel. Not so funny anymore huh?

i'm picking golovkin but it's basically a 50-50 fight in my mind. it all depends on how well ggg carries the weight. he spars bigger guys and beat bigger guys in the ams, so i'm slightly inclined to believe he can do it.

Fantastic fight if it happens, between two of my favourite fighters. Hard to pick a winner, but if you weigh up the intangibles, you have to give Froch the slight edge for the minute. Golovkin has to move up in weight, Froch has the natural height and reach advantage, and Froch is more experienced against top calibre opposition. Golovkin has looked spectacular against B-level fighters so far, and the trend continues against Stevens. Froch on the other hand has been in against the best of the best for the past four/five years (Mack excluded).

One thing is for sure, Froch will need his iron chin to hold up because Golovkin is going to nail him at some point.

All respect to Froch but this is a great fight that will showcase GGG's boxing skills and abilities. Froch is top 10 p4p IMO but I think GGG defeats him clearer than Ward does. The right fight to elevate GGG into the elite.
