Froch wants Chavez Jr or GGG

I gotta admit I hate fighters ignoring their upcoming fight and looking ahead but saw this bit of news....

With his defence against George Groves less then a month away, IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl 'The Cobra' Froch is already talking about his next move, and has revealed that promoter Eddie Hearn has been in touch with American network HBO over a potential Vegas fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (47-1-1).

But according to the Cobra, HBO would prefer him to face unbeaten middleweight boss Gennady Golovkin (27-0) in what would be a mouth watering final contest for the Nottingham champion.

After Golovkin demolished Matthew Macklin back in June, Froch was mentioned as one of the few names that might be capable of coping with the Kazakh's power.

Froch told the Sun: "I'm told my promoter Eddie Hearn has already spoken to the American TV company HBO about a big fight against Chavez Jnr.

"But, from what I understand, HBO are more interested to see me in against Golovkin because there are not too many willing to fight him.

"Sure, Golovkin is frightening but I fear no man. It would be an unbelievable super-fight that would get everybody excited - him or Chavez Jr."

Popularity is more important than skills in boxing. Chavez is garbage with no respect for sport but will still get a big fight

I don't think HBO have a preference, they gave Froch four names to fight. I think Eddie Hearn has the preference as he'd be able to put the Golovkin show on in the UK.

It's all about what the fans want to see.

Golovkin would be much better, Chavez Jr would be simply a payday fight.

          Would be a great fight.

I'd put my money on GGG, speed, boxing ability and power most likely belong to him, although Froch has a chin of gold and is pretty awkward.

Youre right, he better want to whoop Groves ass more or he can kiss those options goodbye

Imagine how embarrassed he would be in losing to old bad breath Groves

Froch would beat Chavez, Jr. in great fashion. Froch vs GGG is the fight I'd like to see!

I'd like to see either of those fights to be honest.

Very intriguing, Froch has always been willing to fight the best, no matter if it's home or away.

I remember when Carl won a bronze at the world championships, he was a skinny, gawky looking kid who knew how to fight. I always believed he had it in him to be very good in the professional side of things but what he has accomplished is beyond anything I ever imagined. It would be fitting for Britain's best current boxer to go out in a superfight against the seemingly unbeatable Gennady Golovkin.

Great end to a fairy tale career.

I favour Golovkin too, perhaps erroneously. Froch has a reach advantage, albeit it's probably nothing GG hasn't encountered before.

It would be interesting to see how Golokvin takes a shot from a 168lb opponent.

I think this fight is too soon though. GG shouldn't have to move up just because the 160 division won't man up (altho. I think Murray will).

Unfortunately, it's not even close to a superfight in financial terms.
