My guess, he's attempting to lower the criticism he may/has received over him quitting on his stool. He of course ignores the fact that he himself quit and was asked many times if he wanted to, even the round before he told his team to stop the fight.

Nothing more than a guy trying to keep his 'tough' persona via passing the blame to his team.

He wasn't going to do himself any favors by lasting the distance. He wasn't getting any hometown judging as we saw with the scorecards he was way down, and he was no longer affective against Provodnikov. They did the right thing by stopping the fight.

On facebook Rudy Hernandez said him and Alvarado's manager pushed him to say that he didn't want him to continue. He also said Alvarado is upset at them.
