Being from Mexicali myself just like Leal this hurts a lot. I remember when they would mention him as a prospect, future champ and although he failed on his title fight agains Celestino Caballero he would always be a champ becuase he put his life on the line. All my respect and admiration to every boxes who steps in the ring. My condolescenes to the family. Frankie is in a better place now. Viva Mexicali, Viva Mexico y Viva Frankie Leal.

That is sad if he died due to incompetence or low class, ignorant people not doing their job.

            RIP.

It was just behind the head, albeit he was stooping due to the first (borderline) punch which hurt him. It's a fight though, things happen, it would be wrong to put it on Hirales.

Terribly sad, and a reminder of just how brutal and dangerous the sport is.

Hi guys this is my first post back from my own 2 week Ban. And I would like to say firstly as my first post:

doubledatjab: that's a vile and heinous thing to say. I was a moron for saying certain things and got banned but damn you take the cake. How you could possibly imagine this man "deserved death" just because he didn't have good defense? I mean maybe you worded it wrong but WOW, good luck with your 'karma' in real life you sad ...bastard.

The other thing is, I just wanted to note to some people who said maybe he died due to medical neglect. The truth is Frankie Leal was also hospitalized on a stretcher just a few fights ago in his KO loss to Gradovich 'the mexican russian' so the truth is it seems like this was honestly just coming for him because he must have already suffered some kind of injury that was building up since the gradovich fight was his last KO loss and now his most recent KO loss finally must have flipped the switch on the blood clot building in his brain.
This is similar to Gerald Mcclelan where it was said that Mclellan was experiencing strange/severe headaches after his fights with Julian Jackson and all it took was another massive beating by Nigel Benn to finally rupture whatever it was that was wrong in his brain ...anyways R.I.P. warrior

                      Boxing should be banned imo.
