Roach back to his winning ways?

Trying to remember a Roach fighter before Cotto who won, if not, Cotto is the first fighter to end his losing streak that he had since last year with Khan/Garcia.

Also, although he wasn't in Ruslan's corner that night, he was trained by Roach leading to the fight.

nope cause cotto just stopped being lazy and finally got his stamina up, and plus he was given a easy fight. Cotto could have done that with anyone.

Ruslan is not trained by Roach but that lil phillipino dude. Roach does mitt with ruslan here and there but he doesnt train him

Roach had a little slump, but things are picking up. That's how it goes. He's clearly had a positive effect on Cotto's game/mindset and he's improved Ruslan a lot. We'll see how Manny looks.

Also, I think it's a credit to Roach that Khan has looked less effective since leaving. Roach may have left some defensive flaws in Khan's game that should've been corrected, but Hunter almost seems to be removing a lot of what made effective at all in the hopes of making him some smart and responsible boxer. It may not work.

No coach is perfect. Roach certainly isnt, but he's excellent at what he does, and for certain guys he's the ideal coach.

Yes he does train him. He's his trainer.

Cotto would've beaten Rodriguez even without Roach, but I don't think he'd have taken the same approach, and it's an approach that suits him beautifully.

Roach is a very offensive minded trainer.
You could tell the differences when he was with Roach and Hunter, one being Khan is throwing a lot less than he did with Roach.
Khan's flurry was his best attribute, but he severely lacked defense... now he has less flurries with just a little more defense.
I'd want to see him against a moderately good 140 pounder to see how well he meshes with Hunter... so far he beat Carlos Molina and struggled with Diaz

I think Roach is still a great trainer but imo he has been on the downslide. His age and his disease really are holding him back and I think he is a step slower.
