Floyd is Super Champ
Lara is interim champ
Lara/Trout will be Regular champ
Regular champ is just another way of collecting fees from the mandatory challenger. Which is pointless because I doubt Lara/Trout will get the Floyd fight regardless.Comment

Actually regular champ most of the time is what you'd consider champ, since in most divisions regular is all you have, and super champs have a much less frequent mandos. It makes sense here since they know Floyd likely won't fight a mando, so they reward the top contenders. But they'll probably declare the interim belt vacant asap.Comment

Canelo was never the Super champ, Boxrec simply got it wrong. Floyd has never dropped his "Super" title which he won from Cotto.Wait.
According to Boxrec, Canelo won the Super version of the title off of Trout. I thought Trout was the "regular" champ while Floyd had been the "Super" champ since Cotto.
So did they strip Floyd when he fought Guerrero and promote Canelo to "Super" champ? I thought that unifying WBA titles would eliminate the "regular" version, as with Klitschko-Povetkin.
This **** is disgusting.
The "Super" title is the only one that matters
The WBA were supposed to be phasing these awful belts out, but I guess since it's Mayweather, they think it's neccessary as he's probably not going to be defending that belt (and has 18 months till he's stripped)Comment
