    why did chris byrd move up 2 heavyweight

    when his first 3 fights were at middleweight? wtf

    pretty remarkable but weird

    does anybody know the history behind this?

    Money...

    I think he quickly outgrew mw and lhw, and was probably best suited to be a cruiser, but there was no money there, and he moved to heavy and had a decent run and made some good money while he was there,,,,,

    I remember him going back down to lhw and he looked like crap and was totally drained,,
    He then went to cruiser and looked really good vs a limited opponent,,
    Then he retired,,,

    would have loved to see him vs jones or toney

          He didn't begin his pro career at MW did he, he had a couple at lik 170 then was pretty much always on or around 200 lbs.

          He did very well. But he and Jones would have both done well to have not been so adverse to the CW division.

          Not only was it a clear opportunity to get belts and do well in another division, it would have much been kinder to their health and abilities.
