Why is arum feeding his guys to Ruslan?

You are right on all counts. Also, as every fighter has a manager and generally the top fighters have "teams" and "advisors" etc, it is they who decide whom their man fights. The promoter's job is to promote, and make the most money possible for all concerned, whilst footing all the bills up front. The issue with gb is personal and it's deeper than fights like margarito losing to Mosley. Cmon man catch up. I don't think he cares about his guys losing to ruslan as much as u think. You forget that it was Arum who said he wants bradley vs ruslan to hbo and it was again his choice to make alvarado-prov. And now he's talking prov-pac/rios. Prov provides entertainment and again, he has a great ongoing relationship with his promoter. Besides, he's still making money off these fights.
You're over dramatizing what arum sees as just good fcking fights.
The usual method is that the promoter (aided by the matchmaker) presents the fighter(s team) with a selection of available and most lucrative opponents, the dates available and the venues available where the best following are likely to attend. The fighter and his team weigh up all the options, pro and con, and make the decision. If they don't like any of the presented selection, they say so, and the promoter finds others (if available).
It's generally the manager who makes the decision because this is a major part of his job, which is to protect guide and work for the benefit of his boxer. he generally doesn't make it without other advice.Comment
