Kovalaev, WLAD/VITALI, GGG, RUSLAN, LOMENCHENKO ETC.
These Eastern block guys don't trash talk like moronic American/Britishfighters, they are real Warriors that have has a much tougher up bringing than any area of Philly.
Siberia where Ruslans from is straight murder sprinkled with minus 1000000000000000000 degrees. Makes Inglewood look like Teddybears picnic.Comment

also the soviets were very much into boxing. most of them fought in the olympics in the 70's & 80's.........(thats how we got matches like foreman vs chapulos) as a sport the soviets loved boxing.Last edited by Godsfly; 10-20-2013, 10:09 PM.Comment

It takes a while to assimilate the pro style. More importantly, to catch the eyes of the top promoters which is only a recent thing. Even top talents like GGG were buried for years, but mostly didn't turn pro at allComment

True but it takes longer than 23 years from scratch to get an ATG boxer.
The people who start will hardly know ****, so how are they going to be any good, and then to get trainers etc...
You need established trainers and gyms to get ATG boxers.
In the US they use guns to hunt boar, in Russia they use sinks. Trust me Russians are tough
Watch this video, you think an American girl would do this?

You need established trainers and gyms to get ATG boxers you say.
if we were talking about over the course of 3 years maybe. (we're talking 23 years) boxing is a poor mans sport. it has nothing to do with fancy gyms. in fact some of the best boxers have trained in run down crappy gyms. trainers are 10% of the boxer. & a trainer won't automatically make an ATG fighter......honestly most ATG fighters are born with an extreme talent for fighting, & then they find themselves in a run down gym & it takes off from there.........their good all around fighters. reberto duran said that boxing was so easy (2nd nature) that it was like a game to him.Last edited by Godsfly; 10-20-2013, 10:31 PM.Comment

It aint like in the 60's, this is the era where people eat healthy and start boxing at age 7 or 8. So if you start at age say 7 23 years a go, you're going to be 30.
Sorry but your logic is flawed.
You obviously need the athlete, but if the athlete in this era doesn't get everything right, he aint gonna be an ATG.
Let's say Mayweather started boxing in Eastern Europe 16 years a go and stayed there, he aint gonna be no ATG to me. He wouldn't have been an the USA olympic team, and then unlikely gone to get deals with Top Rank etc...
His life would have been different. Full stop.Comment
