Yeah^. There's a slightly racist tone to the OP which I find distasteful, but a lot of the Eastern European / Ex-Soviet talents coming through are showing real promise. I always thought this would be the case when the fruit of the excellent amateur programs started to turn pro on a regular basis, but they also tend to bring an aggressive, fan-pleasing style.
Bear in mind though, that this doesn't imply that the EE / Ex SU Asian peoples are some kinda supermen. The guys who are turning pro are all ('cept phaps Pirog) amateur standouts who woulda already been top fighters if they'd been pro from the beginning.
Still, it's a reflection on the increasing internationalisation of the sport; we should expect to see more African and SE and (perhaps later) Southern Asian champions over the coming decades, gradually coming to follow the population demographics.
After the ability to speak which defines us, MANkinds obsession with F#kkin' and fightin' are possibly our most universal connection.
