Comments Thread For: Roach Doubts Pacquiao-Provodnikov, Arum Does Not

In another brutal ring battle Russian beast and No. 1 ranked Ruslan Provodnikov battered Mike “Mile High” Alvarado before a stunned sell-out crowd in Alvarado’s hometown on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado to win by a 10th round TKO when the champion quit at the end of the round seated on his stool.

Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach, who left his talented Filipino assistant Marvin Somodio to handle Provodnikov along with strength and conditioning coach Gavin McMillan, watched the fight in General Santos City where he is preparing “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao for his showdown against Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios in Macau on November 24. I don't like this fight, not yet at least. Ruslan's my boy but Pacquiao destroys him with ease

There's plenty of other options for Provodnikkov

I don't want this fight to happen... either Pacquiao smokes Ruslan or Ruslan lands an overhand right that might hurt Pacquiao. There's plenty of other boxers for these two warmachines to destroy

They have the same trainer and sparred with each other. They're friends - why the hell would you make them fight?

The public would much rather see Pacquiao - Bradley II. **** Arum.

Ruslan vs JMM and Ruslan retires Juan for good. If Ruslan can take Alvarado's shots considering the guy was 160 imo he mows right through JMM.After that whinefest Marquez and Nacho did throw them to the siberian wolf.

I dont think Arum would put in Pacquiao with this beast. He will try to retire Marquez.

Marquez beats Provo imo. Good come-forward style for JMM.

This is the fight I would have worried about Pacquiao in for a comeback after Marquez. Not Rios.

If Pac looks like himself against Rios, I'd have no doubt he does a number on Ruslan.
