I like Lamply, and he called a great fight here..I just feel it might be time for HBO to start looking for a replacement(Gus Johnson anyone)..He's seen it all,it's time to start a new era in boxing..Lamply is great man,and had some great moments, but I believe it's time for a fresh perspective..

Not half as badly as Gatti did, who was a vicious, raving drunk as well. His only good side-if it can be called that-was shown in the ring, especially in the first Ward fight-the other two were nothing much. I'm sorry to say that I never cared for Gatti, who has received the usual adulation from teen-fans. Micky ward was always a true warrior as well as a decent fellow. He had a terrific fight against Emanuel Augustus whom he outsized, which I prefer by far to the Gatti fight.

Aside from pulling covers and pointing the finger about what someone did in the past, it was a great documentary. You can let something ****** someone did that wasn't any of our business anyway get in the way if you want. For me, I know no one is blameless and we all got some issues in our past unless you were a perfect mommas boy. Can't make everyone happy. I think his emotions added to the drama. It was great.

Replace Lampley? So what if he cheerleads he's been the voice of boxing my entire life (I'm 30) the guy doesn't need to go anywhere. I mean seriously, if his announcing is affecting how good the fight is, then it isn't a good fight in the first place. Larry Merchant has Alzheimers and Dementia on the mic, he had to go but Jim is still sharp mentally he doesn't need to go anywhere. That being said he needs to stop crying so much, I'm not against men crying like some other people but you can do to it too much and he does. Also, he did get in some problems with the law and domestic violence but it couldn't have been a big deal or he would have served jail time, which he didn't.

I always loved when Larry and Jim commentated, it balanced the ship. One was overly emotional the other seemingly brash/frank. Either way it made for colorful commentating.

First of all great documentary. I was wondering how they'd retell a story told a million times but Gatti Ward lends itself because it's just so great. As to Jim Lampley crying, that's called passion. The dude genuinely loves the sport and the people involved in it. Anyone crying obscenities because a grown man sheds a tear recollecting one of the greatest rounds of boxing history is pretty insecure about themselves. They probably cried with Jim

Also can we just get over the whole "HBO IS BIASED" because of course they are! They have certain fighters they pull for. They're investing money in these guys. Same crap goes on over in Showtime and even NBC. You guys need to do some reading on bias, plenty of psychology research in that department. If anything props to HBO for doing shows like fight game where they acknowledge the other stations and do free promotion for the good of the sport.
