Murray frustrated with inactivity since brave Martinez defeat as Wood bout is confirmed
'It's not the fight I wanted, going to the other side of the world and defending my [WBA interim] title on his home soil but there's nothing I can do, it's the only option I've been given,' Murray told Sportsmail.
'I've taken the fight to keep my position strong which will hopefully get me a world title shot next year.
'I'm not happy coming from the best performance of my career and the biggest fight of my life to get told I'm not going to be fighting on an English TV station or in England.'
Murray had been linked with world title fights against Peter Quillin and Gennady Golovkin but both failed to materialise.
Quillin's promoter went as far as to say Murray's representative was 'impossible' to deal with - although Ricky Hatton responded by saying the money on offer was not sufficient.
'I hadn't heard of it until the fight was passed,' Murrya added. 'He never even contacted me to say he'd been contacted.
'Golovkin was mentioned, they mentioned a date to me but didn't mention any type of purse.'
Instead Murray will face Wood who has lost three of his 16 fights.
'I've only watched a little bit of him; from what I've seen he's quite awkward and a bit of a brawler,' he said.
'He's only had 16 fighters but he's been in with some experienced fighters like Anthony Mundine and Sam Soliman.
'I'm going to be expecting a tough fight. he's going to well up for it, he's not going to want to lose on home soil.'

Sounds like Murray could jump ship sooner rather than later.
