Comments Thread For: Judah-Malignaggi, Ortiz-Molina Winners Will Be in The Mix

The winner of Zab Judah (42-8, 29KOs) vs. Paulie Malignaggi (32-5, 7KOs) will have a lot of options, according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Judah-Malignaggi takes place on December 7th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Golden Boy has no shortage of welterweights, and the Judah-Malignaggi winner could find himself in lucrative opportunity in 2014. Among the possibilities - a fight with Robert Guerrero, the winner of Devon Alexander's defense of the IBF title against Shawn Porter on November 30 - or the winner of Adrien Broner's defense of the WBA title against Marcos Maidana, which takes place on December 14. GB will be matching Top Ranks plans of Cotto vs Martinez with Canelo vs Ortiz. Floyd should fight Lara if he can beat Trout and look good doing so. Better then Alexander or Khan IMO.

Why does Ortiz get a shot at the title? He lost his last two fights and now he gets to fight for the title. How does that work? This is the type of **** that really messes up boxing and makes a mockery of the sport. These sanctioning bodies are nothing but a poison/cancer to the sport of boxing.

                What if

What if Molina breaks Ortiz's Jaw, that would be crazy. What if Ortiz is a beast at 154?

He lost vs Josesito Lopez but his " loss " vs Floyd should not have been a loss because of the cheapshot.

Lara will spend the entire fight moving backwards. He needs the right fighter to look good. Someone like Cotto maybe but he's not landing that fight either. He needs a fighter that will follow him across the ring. And that ain't Floyd. I'm not interested in watching a staring contest between Lara and Floyd. Thurman would be a good fight and he's had fights at 152 in the past. But he's on the verge of landing a title shot at WW against either Devon or Broner so I can't see him moving back up.
