Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton: Carl Frampton is a World Champ in Waiting

British boxing’s most decorated fighter of the modern era, Ricky Hatton, has tipped rising star Carl Frampton for greatness after admitting he sees himself in the Irish ace.

The super-bantamweight faces off against Frenchman Jeremy Parodi this weekend in Belfast, in a fight which will see the victor get a shot at world title glory in their next bout.

Frampton’s star appeal was made even more apparent after the Ulsterman sold out Northern Ireland’s biggest indoor venue, the Odyssey Arena, with 8,500 tickets snapped up, in what will be only his 17th professional bout.

Hatton has now added his name to the long list of admirers, believing that the man dubbed, ‘The Jackal’, has all the attributes to not only win a world title but cement his place amongst the greatest Irish fighters ever. [Click Here To Read More]

I believe so. He's already knocked out a current world champion in Kiko Martinez. His resume is pretty impressive for the number of fights he's had. Very talented fighter who I've always thought would beat Quigg.

When they both were first coming up I rated Quigg the better prospect but Frampton just kept getting better as his opposition improved.

I think Quiggs latest outing will have helped him no end & I'd have them fairly even again now. Frampton has the edge in power but Quiggs bodyshots are the best in the British Isles (geographical term before anyone wets their knickers).

I still can't make my mind up although Frampton is the better looking prospect but Quigg might still have something in reserve.

I agree. Frampton is definitely the more handsome of the two. Excellent taste, sir.
