    Why is nobody mentioning Roach?

I don't even like Roach and think he made tactical errors for the Marquez fights....

But he is really good at bringing the best out of fighters..

Like with Khan, he realized his strengths and made the most of them, now Khan is a bum with Hunter who is making the fatal error of trying to transform Khan into something he will never be.

You forgot the greatest mate. The team of Ray Arcel and Freddie Brown.

Dundee didn't do that much training. He usually came in last minute and went over game plans then motivated them etc during the fight. Nonetheless, a great trainer.

Freddie Brown is often overlooked, and seen as just a great cutman, but was really the grit behind the Arcel/Brown team. He was the guy that woke the fighter up, got him running, training, did mitts and all the gym work and kept on their arse through training camp motivating them etc etc. Arcel was the details man, game plan, tactics etc.

Still, Arcel has a freak résumé. Roberto Duran, Ezzard Charles, Benny Leonard, Larry Holmes, barney Ross, tony Zale, Jim Braddock, Peppermint Frazier and another ten world champions, including multiple HOFers not mentioned. Amazing stuff.

One interesting tidbit is that most of the guys mentioned as the best trainers were students of Browns. He was truly the man behind the scenes, but was the glue that held things together in the corner. Real unsung hero.

              Ray Arcel
              Eddie Futch

I am having a bit of brain fog but there are much more, but those are the two who come to mind.

Guys like Angelo Dundee were more of strategist motivators, not really trainers who did pad work or worked on technical flaws and adjusted them, Dundee was great at studying tape and coming up with game plans though just never did much hands on training.

                Good pick Arcel-Brown was legendary.

They had that run with Duran, one of the best runs in boxing.

Arcel to me is my favorite, he was a no nonsense guy who told it to you straight. He never boasted, like Mayweather Sr.

This is a great quote by Arcel:
“You’re only as good as the fighter you work with. I don’t care how much you know. If your fighter can’t fight, you’re another bum in the park.”

Arcel probably has the greatest resume of any trainer.

No mention of Gil Clancy or George Benton? Unbelievable trainers to me.
