I think that HBO is leagues ahead of Showtime production-wise but at the moment Showtime have a better stable of fighters(sad that I can refer to a network having it's own "stable", i know)....
Do you prefer HBO Boxing or Showtime Boxing?

HBO has much better production quality without argument. Lamply can get on my bad side time to time but other than that I love HBO. It was an awful move for them to not work with Golden Boy anymore.
With showtime I really enjoy Paulie and thats about it. I don't think the lighting and the sound levels as HBO. The replays are awful. Al is always and I mean always off about what replay is showing and describing whats happening in the replay. Jimmy Lennon Jr. is just always introducing introducing introducing. (Hes not any good) The voice actor is annoying.
But as long as its a good fight/card I really don't care what network I watch it on. I always enjoy boxing and when it is on Showtime or HBO i'm almost always going to enjoy the production.Comment

HBO has slipped recently...the Bradley v Marquez card did not feel PPV. The commentating was boring. Roy has a lot of knowledge but he does not speak as well as Paulie. They are missing Steward badly, Kellerman is not great but he does not speak as much as Lampley who seems to have regressed year after year. Lampley does have a GREAT voice but he needs to improve his actual commentary, he was WAY better back in the day.
Im a big fan of Paulie Maliginaggi as a commentator, he explains whats going on, clearly and crisply. Mauro is more MMA-esque but he has a decent voice, he can get you amped up for the fight. Al Bernstein is fine, no complaints. I just prefer the Showtime commentators.
I miss Foreman, Steward, Merchant as members of the team. I think Merchant is still around but to be fair he speaks wayyy too slowly nowadays, its understandable why he isn't. He still adds a bit with his presence and voice though. He and Lampley ARE HBO commentating as we have known it for a LONG time.Comment

I prefer whatever channel BOXING IS ON. Seriously, network fanboyism is one of the absolute worst things to come to this board.Comment
