I think it's because Mayweather-Khan is what's being talked about nonstop. After Garcia won there was talk, but with Khan-Alexander not happening people are assuming Amir will get the fight.

Garcia needs a title at 147 to make it interesting. Floyd is fighting Khan and possibly a Cotto rematch pending Cotto beats Sergio

I think it has already been decided by team Mayweather and Golden Boy that Khan will be Mayweather's May 2014 opponent and Khan will sit it out until then. They don't want Khan fighting anybody for fear he will lose and kill the Mayweather-Khan fight. Garcia should fight the winner of Maidana-Broner. If he wins that fight he would probably get to fight Floyd in September 2014. That's my take on things.
