    Will JMM retire?

He stated that if he won against Bradley, he was most likely going to retire with that.
Now that he lost, does he still consider retirement or will he pursue a win or big money fight to ride off into the sunset. No doubt, Arum is salivating over a Pac/Marquez 5 with Marquez losing some bargaining power

I think Arum will try to hook him up with Rios... was interesting a while back and I bet he thinks thanks to Marquez's performance, Rios will do better.
Hope he remembers styles makes fights

He should retire. He's lost a lot of speed and reflexes. If he does continue, I would like to see a farewell fight in Mexico. JMM has accomplished so much. There is nothing left for him to give to the sport.

Fight pac for a 5th time, or cotto at a catchweight.
Or fight morales who he has avoided his whole career
          Or retire

Yes, Arum does the "hooking up" but it is the fighters and their managers/advisors who decide which opponent to fight. Arum proposes those available for specific nights along with what TV coverage is available-if any- and than gives the financial advantage or disadvantage of each potential opponent, and then THEY chose. It's speculation of course on the promoter's part, but it is experienced and informed.

Even newly signed fighters have their manager's decide who they should fight. That's part of the manager's job. The ridiculous urban legends (mostly about King-which were true) about promoters, have little or no basis in truth. Just one thing to know....that promoters negotiate the purse they'll pay the fighters, because they more they pay, the less they make.

Every single expense, from news coverage to the plastic spoon you stir your coffee with, is paid for by the promoter. And most of it in advance or on the night of the fight. So if it doesn't do well the promoter is out of pocket....which is why they try to promote the last drop out of every show. Why should they be blamed for that, its' their livelihood at stake just as much as the boxer's and every one of the thousand or more employees working on that big promotion.

I saw a video where someone said JMM said he wants to fight the winner of Provodnikov-Alvardado (before last night obvously) so maybe Mike or Ruslan?

I don't know what a boxer "gives" to the "sport". They certainly "get" from it...... especially the successful ones. I wonder how much they donate to the funds for the lesser fighters who have ended up with little money and fewer skill to make a living outside the ring... Promoters generally are the big donors.

We can confidently assume that Marquez, who is an accountant, figured out that boxing was bringing him in far more money that accounting would have-even when he was fighting average fighters for the 10 years before he won a (vacant) title.... Therefore he was "getting" and any "giving" was only incidental, the way a bricklayer gives his work to get his pay..

Why should he retire, he just need Memo to go back to the drawing board and make some good VADA undetectable peds. Marquez will return and you can count on that. Memonater has locked himself in his lab and he won't come out until the job is complete.
