Are we too harsh on the judges?

There have been some very bizarre threads on this forum of late such as JMM won the fight against Bradley/he was robbed etc.

It was the same when Mayweather beat Alvarez with some people saying they felt the later won the fight.

Whilst some of the people who post this nonsense are trolls some actually believe it...

So it got me thinking about he judges who will be influenced by their own favorite fighters, crowd reactions etc. maybe some of them truly believe the scores they are giving, I.e. The judge who awarded the bout to JMM over Bradley.

What's your thoughts on this? Are we being too harsh or are these judges simply incompetent or on the take?

Some judges deserve the crap they get.

However, judging a fight is not always as easy as people make it out to be. I always find it tedious to sit there and closely follow each round to try and score it. To be honest, it takes the fun out of watching the fight and I try to avoid it.

For the most part, yeah. Because people (especially in NSB) believe that the way THEY scored the fight, is the only possible way that the fight could be scored.

You'll constantly read things like "what a complete robbery! I scored the fight _______". And act like that's the end all of scoring fights.

We aren't harsh enough, and neither is the sport itself. Every week this bull**** happens. Every week. It's sickening.

Who are we to say what's right and wrong, though? It's a fine line.

I mean, there are instances (Canelo/Mayweather) where you know for damn sure something is up. But more times than not, they get it right.

The difference is, we don't make a thread (or 20 threads) talking about all of the correct decisions that take place. We only talk about the negative.

Do you really think Canelo/Mayweather was a draw?

Really judging a fight like you are a judge sucks, and it is a pointless endeavor because some schlep that watched while talking on the phone to his girl will think his scorecard is as good as someone who watched for every possible detail.

I don't even score fights anymore because of that stuff because it makes it less fun, I usually come up with an idea of who I think is winning because I can't help myself but I know that isn't really scoring a fight.

I will just say judging is very subjective and judges are at a much different angle than you watch on tv and they can only go by what they see.

Judging is just so whack anymore. Every week it seems there's a scorecard that is ridiculous.

No, some judges are completely incompetent or paid off and deserve to be scrutinized publicly, even threatened by rabid boxing fans.
