I don't know about the best counterpuncher mayweather schooled him and so did chris john. his style just matches pacs that all. barerra and morales in their prime would have whipped marquez.

Mayweather schooled Marquez with boxing, not counter-punch, same with John. Marquez can throw counter-punches in volumes with different angles.

I give Marquez that edge in counter-punching over Mayweather just because he's so good with it finishing off most of his fights with power, and all that without speed. Mayweather is the over-all best boxer though.

marquez's win against pac was a fluke...it was a fluke and it will always be a fluke...

he was dying in the waning second of round 6 until he landed that very very very lucky punch...

had he fought pac the way he fought against bradley, pac would completely annihilate him...
