Daniel Santos, the former welterweight and junior middleweight champion, has not fought since losing the latter title by unanimous decision to Yuri Foreman in 2009 in New York. Santos, 38-years-old, is preparing to return to the ring on December 7 on a card being held at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum, Bayamon, under the promotion of Anthony Rivera. Santos is an Olympic bronze medalist.

Coming into the fight with Foreman, Santos (32-4-1, 23 KO's) had issues dropping weight and killed himself to make 154-pounds. By the night of the fight he rose by 19-pounds and felt weak during the entire contest. Danny is a very good friend of mine and I can assure everyone that he has been very active working out this whole time. If Hopkins and a few other much older boxers can do it he sure can too.

Santos was always a very good fighter and really underrated in my opinion. But he was the welterweight version of Guillermo Jones. He'd show up and fight, and usually win, even when you expected him to lose, but then he'd disappear for about two years.
