whether Fury likes it or not he is a professional athlete with a moral duty to uphold whatever reputation the sport actually has left. and thats regardless of what 'fans' of the sports tweet at him. no different from footballers getting abused from the stand. if they give hand signals back or (recall Eric Cantona) lash out at fans then they bring the sport into disrepute and deserve the full force of whatever censure is available.
unfair? maybe...but then thats the obligation that comes with being paid so richly BY the public to perform.
sadly there isnt ENOUGH effective regulation in the sport and so issues of conduct and disrepute are not addressed as well as they should be.
nevertheless...professional boxers should behave as sportsmen and gentlemen outside the ring not thugs. you dont hear trash talking from the likes of pacquiao, marquez & ward. these are the classier operators in the sport.

Tends to be how I look at it. Lewis could possibly take legal action (but won't).

This however is about the BBBofC calling to task a fighter who is bringing their sport into disrepute. Furys ******ity is the kinda thing that gives boxing bad headlines and that is the BBBofCs business, like it or not.

Quite aside from which, you might be OK with it, but how would you feel if that kinda language was directed at your missus or kids? It ain't appropriate for someone in the public eye who could be a role model to some (though god knows who) - to set this kind of example.

As a boxer licensed by the BBofC, he represents them in and out of the ring - so does every other boxer licensed under the board. Same happens with the FA handing out fines for silly shit.

It is not a criminal offence, defamation (if pursued) is a civil matter. So as I said in the previous post, it would be pointless complaining to the police.
