Nice matchup. Silakh is a good boxer. He can give Kovalev problems if he can stay on his feet.
I always use the Donaire/Rigo pre fight talk to say that boxing is more than a game of power an chins. But with Silakh I'm just not sure if he can withstand that attack for 12 rounds.Comment

I saw the Sillakh-Grachev fight in Austin and he definitely doesn't have the power to put anyone down. He was content to box circles around Grachev, but he doesn't sit on his punches or have any natural power at all. And then he was buckled by the first flush punch he got caught with. Kovalev has the footwork (Grachev definitely didn't) to negate Sillakh's boxing skills. He also punches in combination (which Grachev didn't). Your boy Sillakh is getting dropped hard. Why would you think he could KO Kovalev??Comment

And if we're going to bring up past fights, let's do so while acknowledging that only beating "Nathan ****ing Cleverly", is a hell of a lot better than getting stopped by Denis ****ing Grachev.
And maybe I'm mistaken, but I also seems to remember Sillakh out boxing Despaigne for the majority of the fight, and ending up getting hurt in the latter rounds.
Sillakh can be hurt. Kovalev hits hard. If what other people buying into with Kovalev is "hype" what the fuck does that make your love for Sillakh?Comment

How about.. Kovalev is more active, powerful and all around more skilled than the Grachev who knocked Sillakh clean out the moment he let his hands go.Comment
