Everybody has had a belt in boxing nowadays..

there is 4 sanctioning bodies plus ring title,
      4 Superchamps
      4 regular champs
      dozens of interm champs...

back in the 70s and 80s guys like:
      ghost
      ortiz
      berto
      canelo
      hatton
      gatti
      None would be champs

Donald curry or SRL or hearns vs ghost, ortiz,
      Canelo vs mccllelan or hearns
gatti vs arguello, pryor, hell even mancini

Not trying to take away from floyd,, but being a "champ" today is greatly overrrated, in all honestly, it doesnt mean crap...

Might be kinda irrelevant, but I believe the WBA are starting to phase out this "Super champion" stuff. I agree though, so many belts its ridiculous. 2 champions per division is fine, as unification fights can be very exciting. Anything over that though, is terrible

But like i said on NSB floyd can fight champions but they arent really champions
GTFO!!! I tell you this, if Floyd didnt fight Ortiz, Ghost, Mosley when he fought them, I would be the FIRST to call him a ducker. He doesnt cherrypick random bums from Mexico. He just fights whoever's there. Yea he DID Duck Pac, but if he fought Pac, and didnt fight not ONE of the other ww's he fought, he would be a ducker, plain and simple. Each guy he fought had different styles, and he was forced to change his style in order to dominate each. Its legendary that he is able to do that! And Canelo was a bonus fight. He wasnt obligated to fight anyone at jr md because he cant even make the weight. Cotto was the only bum he fought since he returned.

Yes your right, hatton was a legit champ during that time,,,
all i was saying was that in another era like the early 80s he would not have been,,

I dont see hatton beating pryor, arguello, camacho, chavez, meldrick taylor, roger mayweather, oscar, pernell, etc.......

the level of competition is way down from previous eras
