Controversy over an official result should only come if there is something shady about the ref or judges, or some physical injury that forces an early stoppage like Vitali's injuries against Lewis and Byrd. Not if a fighter wins in a way that cannot be disputed or argued on that night.
Well, what do we know about what already happened is exactly why it can be controversial. We saw the events that went on, and those events were controversial because they caused a public disagreement on many questions, now you linked to my examples of future questions, but you can quite easily apply those examples to the present/past i.e. would Marquez have won the fight if he didn't land that punch? Would he have knocked Pacquaio out regardless in a later round? Now I know what you could say to counter this, which is basically that if you have those kinds of thoughts you could call anything controversial, but I think I'm safe in saying controversy would apply to a large sample of disagreement, and the conditions would actually have to in someway agree with the logic of certain peoples disagreements, which throws Duns ****** example of his opinion on Hatton winning rounds, which is supported by absolutely nothing.

Somebody is mad. I applied the definition of the word, you couldn't take it, butthurt alert. Pacquaio got KO'd, he lost, the fight caused some controversy, also nice word play, 8/10.

haha i agree the fight itself is not controversial! Manny got knocked out, period. i think the controversial part of this whole ordeal is the fact the Marquez doesn't want a 5th fight.

JMM owes Manny nothing. Manny's fans are just upset that he got KTFO! Move on already.

Hell yeah they forgot that Pacman only fought Marquez because Cotto told him no to his ridiculous catchweight offer of 148. Short memories these guys.
Doesn't matter why he fought him again, the bottom line is that he did.

to a manny fan like you, of course it doesn't matter now, But when you and other posters argue that JMM owes manny a fight because manny gave him a rematch its fair to remind you guys that #4 happened only because Manny wanted the payday, not because he felt a sense of honor.

just give it a rest...jmm doesn't want it anymore.

pac initially want a 5th fight but after jmm refused, he stopped talking about it.

the truth is, if jmm gets beaten by bradley and pac beats rios, he will start stalking pac again for a 5th fight. or even if they're both victorious but pac will get back on top again, jmm will want another fight.

                Correction**

Marquez cried in 2004, cried in 2008, and cried again in 2011, finally gets a lucky punch in 2012 and now wants to run and hide from Manny with his drug dealer of a trainer. i'd say yea.. he's got all his bases covered lol

Pacland...where greed equals honor, blatant cherrypicks are heroic challenges, and being KTFO cold after being knocked down means you secretly won the fight. These threads are always comedy gold. Pacquiao spent years and divisions fighting anyone but JMM. If JMM wants to give Pac a rematch, he can wait until 2015.

No need for a rematch. JMM out boxed him in their previous fights and Got the KO.

                      Juan is the better fighter.
