    Wait a minute.

Metal plate inserted + no feeling in his jaw... after this he'll be invincible!

I bet Khan is seething with jealousy.

On a serious note. How brave is Ricky Burns?

His trainer must have mixed feelings, he could've prevented the nerve damage by stopping the fight. Annoying thing is RB would've been labelled a quitter.
No way. After people would have learned that Burns undertook a jaw surgery I strongly doubt that anyone would have said Burns was a quitter.
As soon I realized that Burns had his jaw broken I said he must quit.
(Damaged mouth nerves may remain permanently damaged.)

Having had TMJ disorder for over a decade, I can somewhat relate to what Burns is going through. Jaw pain is one of the absolute worst there is, since it interferes with pretty much everything 24/7 - talking, eating, sleeping, swallowing, yawning, dentist check-ups, etc.

The result of the Beltran fight was obviously a load of shyte, but I'll give Burns all the props in the world for biting down (literally and figuratively) and fighting on. He gets even more props if he fights Crawford in his next outing, rather than a tune-up.
          Definitely.

Victor Ortiz still gets it, although it was his second time. I agree he should have quit, or at least, his trainer should have pulled him out. Nothing is worth long-term damage.
