[QUOTE=Sugar Q;13821355]Well have you actually spoken to African-American College students regarding these athletes? I'm serious. I visited Howard this summer and every single African-American college student I hanged out with stated they rather have someone like Robert Griffin III or Lebron James over someone like Allen Iverson or Michael Vick......
You can be 'hip' but also a well behaved well mannered young man as well. The true issue as the Howard Professor I talked to stated was that the 90's and early 2000's was massively influenced by gangsta rap... which ruined many African-American Athletes and the way they behave/talk.
It's funny because that period is over yet guys like Broner still thinks it's active and cool.
It's also ironic that the true essence of gangster rap is not acting like a moron and shooting people but understanding the struggles of inner city life.
Also not one of the Afro-American students at Howard knew who Adrien Broner is.. I had to show them clips of him talking ... they all thought it was the most disgraceful thing they ever seen..
Nothing racist about calling out certain people who try to drag back the Afro-Americans instead of pushing it forward.
This is why I'm rooting so hard for Anthony Joshua... so he can actually give the British a great image instead of listening to **** ****s like Chisora.
