I think so.... so far all camps are pointing to no CW and being at the full MW. I think he should at least have a tune-up fight against a MW to test out the division instead of jumping straight into there.

Thoughts? And who'd be a good one?

It's tough to say. I think Sergio is one of the only relevant MW small enough for Cotto to take on. He may not want to risk losing to another MW too. I guess he could fight someone like Vera.

Vra got the rematch up in the air though.....but I think if Sergio offers, he'll take it.
IMO though, between the injury and the probable Cotto fight, he won't want to take a lot of unnecessary risks. If he takes a tune-up, it should be against a domestic fighter off television

Nah. D-Rod was the tuneup. Fight would be on June 7. You figure he needs to hit camp by April. That's 5 months rest.

Nothing too pressing, but something to feel the weight and let Roach get more work in with him. A fight in March would be perfect.

Yes, he should fight Matthew Macklin.

He could beat Darren Barker. Could be a unification match against martinez.

I suggest he fight someone at 157-160, maybe a top 20-30 middleweight to feel out how his body reacts and to score another KO (confidence booster).
