London - WBC Silver super middleweight champion James DeGale MBE steps back into the ring at Glow, Bluewater, on Saturday November 16, live on Channel 5, with an opponent to be announced shortly.

The Beijing Olympic Gold medallist, DeGale, will be looking to deliver a "devastating" performance as he continues his march towards world title glory.

“I can’t wait to get in there and put on the kind of display where people take note and see that I'm ready and willing to fight the best,” DeGale said

"I'll put on a great performance for the fans.”

The man, fondly known as ‘Chunky’, bids to add to Britain's Olympic legacy and his own 2008 success, by becoming our first Olympic and professional world champion. [Click Here To Read More]

I don't think the public will ever warm to Degale because of how he acted in the build-up to the Groves fight and because of that he will struggle to get any of these big fights, especially being on channel 5, they don't have the budget to get these fights.

No doubt it'll be a poor opponent...

This story is only missing a bum tomato can opponent to complete the tale of fame to obscurity for DeGale. He has some talent but has regressed as a pro, still gets caught on the ropes far too often. Let's hope he gets a real opponent.

Of course it will. No one half decent will take the fight on such short notice. If DeGale thinks these no hopers will prepare him for the level of power and intensity Froch brings to the table, he is in for a rude awakening.

Yeah disappointed by DeGale not stepping up for bigger fights but that is Hennessey to blame. DeGale needs to move to Matchroom if he can get out of his contract.

James DeGale has no charm to the British public. People forget he is a gold medallist. And he went to Hennessey to get fights. He fought twice, then had a 6 month break, then had another couple. Unfortunately, he is not relevant whilst he is with Hennessey because they dont have the budget to attract world class opponents and it make DeGale part of the 'who needs him' club. Big risk, small financial reward. DeGale needs Matchroom or Golden Boy or even Top Rank. I dont see him fighting a top 10 opponent anytime soon, certainly not on channel 5/hennessey's card.
