There was so much science and veteran skills in that fight. They didn't get a belt after the fight, they got a Nobel prize.

    Respect

Wlad constantly pushed down on Povetkin yesterday and looked terribly sloppy when he wasn't engaged in that. A better ref could have made that fight better. I don't blame Wlad that much. However he was leading with it and using it as an offensive weapon, not a defensive tactic.
I still don't see the need to bring up Wlad in this thread, it has nothing to do with him.

best performances? your kidding right? the ref should have docked points for the numerous rabbit punches and clinchings.

It's not for everyone, but to me, it was an entertaining fight.

Solis vs Lazarte II was better. That fight had me in tears.

There's always that one guy who brings up a fight from over 60 years ago.

All Fritzie Zivic's fights hold pre-eminent places as top foul-filled. Also Battling Nelson was no slouch.

Hopkins is at the top of today's crop of foul fighters. I suppose it's the reason he calls himself a "throwback'......

I recall that fight very well without needing to watch it again. I have it on tape too. Isn't this the fight where Hopkins turns Echols around and deliberately frops him with a solid rabbit punch over in a corner....?/

I felt almost the same way during and awaiting the decision of a gruesome fight between Golota and Corey "T-Rex" Saunders. The way Saunders' lower lip was trembling whilst awaiting the decision............ And he was as brave as a lion and really showed stubborn bravery which has always been ignored. And the poor guy is still fighting.

It was a dirty fight, but the way Hopkins abuses him is really Hopkins at his best. Negate the opponent and box circles around him. Especially considering the bad blood between these two, its an execution (pardon the pun).
