I hope even more now that Fury somehow beats Haye and we can get the Wlad-Fury fight. One thing Wlad will not be able to do with Fury is to constantly lean on him like he did Povetkin. Wlad-Fury is just a better match up and would be an entertaining fight!

I braced myself for the boredom, apathy and general malaise about to wash over me watching this hulk go to work, jabbing, holding, leaning. Jab, hold, lean, repeat, jab, hold, lean, repeat, jab, hold, lean, repeat, jab, hold, lean. . . **** I'm gettin' flashbacks. That **** has burnt into my neo cortex. Jab, hold, lean, repeat, jab, hold, lean, repeat. I'm starting to feel nauseous.

This time it was worse than usual. "You don't have to watch him you know" my girlfriend infused. "No. You don't understand. I do. I'm a boxing fan. I've invested hours upon hours watching this man's vomit inducing career. I need to believe that it will get better."

But it's not going to is it?! . . . It's just getting worse!! Horribly, horribly worse. I don't feel boredom and apathy any more. I've descended into resentment and malice.

I'm learning to hate the man. And that's not good for my sanity. 'But' I hear myself say, 'He's a decent human being. . .HE'S A ****IN' C*NT. . .You really have to admire his professionalism. . C******************NT HORRIBLE COMA INDUCING C***NT. . his level of dedication though and what he's done for European boxing. . AAAARRRRRHHHHHH. STOP RATIONALISING!!! HE'S A TOP CLASS GRADE A C*NT. . .HATE HATE HATE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE!!!! . . . Do you feel better now? Do you? After your little outburst?

        NO.
        lol.

Well you didn't have to watch the fight. I personally skipped rounds by looking with just half an eye. I was pretty upset with Wlad.

I usually do that with fights that I'm finding it difficult to stomach but after a few rounds I started wishing Povetkin would turn his lights out so I continued to punish myself in vain.

He's not gonna invite defeat and his tactics work. . . but it sure is ugly.

Wlad wouldn't have to lean on Fury. He could pick him apart without getting near him unless necessary.

I can stomach all kinds of styles in boxing, coming forward, going backwards, using lateral movement but o my GOD!! Wlad takes the actual pissss!!!!!!! He made me throw up all over my tv, I wish he would just disappear.

Even if Haye beats Fury, I still want to see Wlad vs Fury, it'll at least be a fight instead of a clinch and lean fest
I am a Wlad fan and I have always enjoyed his fights. I even gave him a break with the Sultan fight because I thought the Russian was the one who caused the problems. I cannot say it this time and this was by far Wlad's worst fight and it was all on him. Well, most of it, because some of the blame can be put on Povetkin and a lot more can be heaped on the ref. I will also say it again I am not sure why Wlad clinched Povetkin so much. Because every time he hit him with a solid shot he hurt him. So his tactics baffle my mind because they really seem so unnecessary as well as boring and illegal. As far as a possible Fury fight is concerned, if Wlad cannot hold or lean on the big buffoon that won't be a good thing for Tyson. Because that means Wlad will have to fight. And if Wlad moves his hands, which he is quite capable of doing, he will destroy Fury.

As I watched that fight at the gym, some of my older boxing friends pointed out that maybe Wladimir Klitschko is not unwilling to open up and finish opponents early, maybe he can't.

I thought about that and realized they could be right.

I think there's two reasons for it.

1- He and his team know something we don't know. Maybe if Wlad had opened up against Haye in the 1st.. he would be flat on his back and kayoed himself. Maybe as great as Wladimir looks... his defense is still leaky if he goes all out. It's only amazing when he fights the way he does? Have people thought about this? Have people thought about the fact that if Wlad goes into a slug fest against Povetkin.. he will be kayoed again? But if he fight ultra cautiously with these hug/clinch/grab tactics of his.. he can always wear down his opponents and get a UD or late KO?

                  2- Mental Block.
The man's been knocked down like 13 times.... I don't know how many times you people been knocked down.. but 13 times as a HW CHamp is very very rare. I don't think he wants to experience a Sanders Moment ever again.... Maybe there's a huge mental block preventing him from being aggressive...

I honestly believe it's not a matter of Wlad 'sticking to his game plan' I think it's a matter of him being incapable of performing in an aggressive manner.

I don't believe that Manny would have put up with this from Wlad and I truly believe that Banks is part of the problem.

I gotta agree. I'm not sure what's up with Wlad, but this is the most he's ever done this in a fight before. Banks is too inexperienced to be in this role.

Wlad needs to be using Sugar Hill as his trainer.
