I think Canelo will be favored to beat Cotto. He has the better hands and at this stage more power. Cotto might be the better boxer, but not by enough to win the fight.

I agree. If Alvarez engages in a slug fest with Cotto like he did tonight, Cotto will KO Alvarez. If Alvarez can get hit that much by a C+ level fighter, Cotto will scorch his ass. If Alvarez engages in a boxing contest with Cotto, Cotto will outbox him. Either way, Cotto beats Alvarez.

Its one of those future fights you can argue either way. Based on Alvarez's height, reach, and age advantage I would give the edge to Alvarez. Cotto may have boxing skills but he's no Mayweather JR. Although Mayweather won the fight over Alvarez there was no point in the fight, in my opinion, where Alvarez showed he didn't belong there. I don't think Cotto's boxing skills are sufficient enough to keep Alvarez at bay. Also. let's not forget Cotto's 4 losses which includes a TKO from Manny Pacquiao. Just my humble opinion.
