I think its safe to say that cotto has recovered from any beatings he took. When was the last war he has been in. 2009-10. The dude is 34 years old and 5 years later he is recovered. His only issue now is his conditioning. That's all mental. Freddy and his new conditioning coach seem to got that covered.
