Every fight he does this.. hides at range.. when they come in and try fight inside because he is so big and use range well.. he then leans or headlocks them rather then fighting inside...

Drains them and then in the latter half of the fight they gas and he opens up a tiny bit more...

Basically how do u beat Wlad??? he is so good at range with his size and skill.. but if you beat that and get inside.. the ref allows him not to fight and do what he wants

Exactly ,that's what he does more exaggerated today but still guarantee if a ref was serious about dq'ing him they would bcuz he would continue based on muscle memory honestly don't think he can stop himself

It was up to the Ref to do something. If he'd taken a point early, it would have changed the fight. Can't really blame Wlad for holding if he's not being punished.

I hate to admit but this is true.

This is exactly what I said to someone in the pub. If he knows he can get away with it, he'll keep doing it. Just like any other boxer would do.

However though, any decent Ref would have seen and dealt with this instantly.

I'm a rigondeaux hater, but wlad took being a coward to a whole new level today.. He literally clinched more than he punched and threw Povetkin to the ground numerous times.. In my book, that is worse than running for 10 rounds and getting put on your ass..

Simple, you get a ref who penalises holding (can't think of one mind).

Steve Smoger would apply the rules correctly. Frequently when he refs, he lets the fighters fight in the inside and encourages then to fight out of the clinch. He never automatically breaks the clinch like ****head Pabon does.
