When watching a fight, what do you fixate on?

Do u keep your eyes on the fighter whom your rooting for, his opponent, or on the fight as a whole? Normally I catch myself focusing on what my fighter is doing.

I don't know that I focus on any one thing. I suppose the fight as a whole, but I'm not really sure what that means. Maybe I'll pay attention to what I'm paying attention to and get back to you in a little while.

I find myself focusing on the fighter I'd like to win.

I focus on the fight as a whole.

Focusing on just what one fighter is doing is a problem all pactards have. That's why their dumbass wonder why everyone says JMM beat Pacquiao all 4 times.

They don't see the work JMM is putting in while Pacquiao throws his wild punches.

This is actually the biggest problem when people judge fights. I learned a long time ago to watch the middle of both fighters wherever that middle may be and I mentally "smack" myself if I find that I am focusing on what one fighter does.

I look at fundamentals and overall skill when watching up and coming prospects. When watching my favorties I look at what their opponents are doing.

I dont think it alters my perception of who won the fight as usually pick the right winner.

Example: I had Jmm winning the 3rd fight with pac comfortably despite the fact that I was focusing on what pac was doing.

Pretty much this. On a lot of occasions, I think the fighter I'm focusing on or rooting for is doing worse than they're actually doing, or get nervous and count the opponents shots as more effective, because I don't want my guy getting hit in the first place.

What happens is "reaction vs proaction". When you are for a fighter and you are watching his opponent some people tend to focus on what he is doing wrong, or even overrate what he is doing right even subconsciously. Judging fights isn't as easy as people let on.
