Comments Thread For: Devon Alexander-Luis Collazo in Play For December 7

A deal is close to match IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander and Luis Collazo, BoxingScene.com has been advised per a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

The bout would headline "Showtime Championship Boxing" on Dec. 7 at Barclays Center. Zab Judah versus Paulie Malignaggi wood serve as the co-feature.

Alexander and Amir Khan were slated to meet on that date. But with rumors swirling that Khan will get a crack at Floyd Mayweather in May, Khan is believed to be moving on from a fight with Alexander so he doesn't jeopardize his biggest fight to date.

I think khan is still supposed to fight in December Alexander was the best opponent unless he gets a Garcia rematch. But I think that's prob too soon for Garcia to fight

Interested to see where Collazo is at I always thought he was pretty good, and shit he is still only 32.

Could be a decent fight if Collazo still has some gas in the tank

Title fight or not Alexander is not main event material and It would be flat out wrong to have Zab and Paulie serve in a co-feature in their own hometown.

The thing about Devon is he is better than most think, so while people may find him boring he'll go out and shut out Maidana so you muSt feature him.

So it looks like Mayweather vs Khan is basically official. It'll be a fun fight, but Khan doesn't deserve it at all. I don't know how he gets the fight before Garcia. I guess Showtime is pushing Floyd & his team to make another big money fight regardless of who really deserves it.

I would make Peterson vs Khan at 147 as the undercard for Zab vs Paulie.

I would put this fight in St.Louis and put Angulo vs Trout as the undercard.
