Why did Juan Manuel Marquez boast that he will take any test and than back out?

I am a huge Marquez fan but he is not exempt from criticism. Also his refusal at a rematch with Floyd could be because of the strict drug testing Floyd requires. Remember JMM was complaining that he lost to Floyd because he wasnt in shape and Floyd failed to make weight, and said if he had Memo with him he would beat Floyd, too bad Marquez said he doesn't want the rematch anymore. I have a sense it has to do with testing, just like with the fifth Pac fight he wanted the fight but than when team Pacquiao wanted to do vada testing right away he backed away.

Man, Marquez said he will test any time and than he made a big fuss at the prefight press conference that Bradley had to be drained and not gain more than a few pounds on fight night if he wanted Marquez to test.

Arum seems to be more concerned about not losing investment money because if a fighter tests positive the fight could get canceled and millions invested will dent Arums pocket.

Hectari, this is off topic but your recent fight picks have been very accurate. I am asking the same question of you on all the threads you have going tonight to make sure I get your answer. How do the upcoming fights of Marquez, Cotto and Wlad go? As to Marquez not taking the tests it is making him look bad. I too am a huge Marquez fan and I have been a fan of his for many years. I was a Marquez fan long before I ever heard of Pacquiao. Marquez always had a deadly straight right punch and he always was a skilled accurate puncher with both hands and combinations.

Hove you ever looked inside your mind and asked yourself why the hell you are talking about Arum being afraid of losing investment money. EVERYBODY in business is afraid-let's say doesn't want to- of losing investment money. They are not running charities. Although, come to think of it Arum and his wife have founded several charities and are huge donors. But I don't suppose you've ever heard of that.

Perhaps you should re-examine your motives and compare them with your actual REAL factual knowledge of what you are printing here....and then think about it...

You spoiled an otherwise excellent post.

Marquez ain't afraid of no test but Maroid is though. They are two different person, don't get them mixed up. Maroid is a creature created by a Mexican scientist.

You JMM ped accusers need to make up your minds. On one hand some insist the only reliable testing organization is VADA (because Bradley said so). But at the same time, many of these same people praise the strictness of usada when it comes to Mayweather. Funny how when Marquez was pushing for USADA testing, his critics were saying it was unreliable, citing the incident with Morales when the commission was left in the dark after his positive result, but now he's being tested through the commission itself so we won't see a repeat of that situation in the event of a positive result, yet that's somehow insuffient.

It's also ridiculous to criticize Marquez for for not being interested in a rematch with Mayweather (after a one sided fight), when Mayweather hasn't even offered him a rematch. It's not like the situation with Pacquiao in which he turned down a career defining fight with Mayweather, specifically because he believed he'd become weakened by blood tests. Also, Marquez had stated this would be the final chapter in the rivalry back when Pac was still maintaining the standard drug tests by the commission (which they both passed) were sufficient. Pac didn't officially announce VADA would be involved in his next fight until this May when both fighters were looking at other opponents. There seems to be a lot of revisionist history going on here...
