Comments Thread For: Erik Morales-Humberto Soto is Dead in The Water

The fight between former four-division world champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), and former three division champion Humberto Soto (61-8-2, 34KOs), is dead in the water. According to Soto's manager Antonio Lozada, the two sides were simply unable to reach an agreement. There were multiple discussions for Soto and Morales to collide at the end of the year, but now Soto is going to return on a date in December against an opponent to be determined. Soto is highly ranked under the WBC at 140-pounds and wants a shot at the title in the near future.

Interesting match up. Morales has kept defying odds to a certain extent with his post retirement performances.
Soto has had some decent wins since his KO loss to Mattysse.

I lean towards Humberto Soto, UD, if the fighter eever gets made.

Wish morales would stop fighting, he is a legend but his losses are mounting up and he is a shadow of his former self

I think Morales saw the Soto's last fight and decided he doesn't wan't none. And Morales is one of my favorite fighters but I think Soto has too much left for him at this point.

You can go ahead and try to fight your grandpa, but he'll give you a decent lesson

If Marquez loses to Bradley. I would love to see a retirement tour, throw in Marquez, Morales, Soto, and Zab (Hatton if willing). And let them all fight each other once. That's 3 or 4 fights if Hattons involved. I think that does awesome ratings and produce good fights. I know these match-ups would be too late for some but better late than never. I'd watch!

(Marquez only if he gets dominated)

Morales realised only now Soto has a win over Pacquiao after he got pummeled by him himself

By "Pacquiao" I trust you mean "Bobby Pacquiao" -- because Soto defeated precisely Bobby Pacquiao...
