Cotto's performance against Floyd - very overrated

I find it strange how people say Cotto gave Floyd a tough fight. Very strange. I've watched the fight 3 times and tried to be as generous as possible to Cotto, but I only managed to give him 3 rounds. He worked hard as you'd expect, but barring 1 round, Floyd never looked in trouble.

I'm a big of Cotto, he's fought most of the best fighters out there and is a real champ, but his performance against Floyd was vastly overrated.

The closest Floyd has been to losing since his defeat to Castillo was against ODL.

It's not just about rounds won. Cotto made Mayweather fight hard for 12 rounds. His performance is underrated, if anything, he fought very well considering where he was in his career.

In terms of rounds won, it really wasn't a close fight. However, Cotto was able to land the jab often and put his punches together at times. He may not have won many rounds but there were a lot of competitive rounds. Cotto fought intelligently and also exhibited solid defense. I thought Floyd was unable to land a consistent punch throughout the fight and Floyd only hurt him late.

Cotto fought the way any reasonable fan thought he would. NSB posters decided he was shot or past it as soon as the fight was signed because they thought floyd would win. As such, Cotto exceeded expectations and his performance is elevated by those same posters.

By comparison, Its a little like Matthysse. He fought the way reasonable fans assumed he would but those who were infatuated with him had such out of the world expectations that Matts performance looked worse than it was. Same could be said for Broner.

Floyd made that cotto fight harder than it really should have been. i think his plan was to make cotto run out of gas late and go for the KO or TKO it almost worked.

Disagree but it's whatever. Cotto ain't win that's all that matters to me. Idc about moral victories or none of that. He did though give him a better fight then a lot of recent fights.

Cotto did very well. He won some rounds. Some other rounds were very close. He bloodied him up and made him work. Unlike everybody else that Floyd has fought recently, Cotto did not look outclassed.

To each his own, I don't think so. Especially since most of the idiot Floyd fans insisted Cotto was getting "Gattied"

if canelo got a majority and dlh a split, then cotto really got robbed in that fight.
