    It’s still the pinnacle.

No matter that US interest in the division is down for the moment. The king of boxing remains the same. Take all the pound for pound and laugh it off. The man who can be presumed superior in the ring to all others is the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

We have a pretty damn good one.

This weekend, he has a chance to all but clean out his era. There are new challengers rising, a new wave that will attempt to wrest his crown away. For now, there is one name remaining that has yet to test the king.

Not a big weekend, just an interesting one.
    Wlad and Cotto normally win.

I can't get excited about the Wlad fight, because I don't see how Povetkin can win. Wlad's chin is on the weaker side, but it's not THAT weak. During his current title reign he has taken the occasional clean shot from harder punchers than Povetkin, and he has never been seriously hurt. Haye stunned him once or twice, and Wach rocked him somewhat, but nothing major. By now it's pretty clear imo that a lucky punch is not enough against him. Povetkin would need to land in combination to win, and he has neither the skills nor the physical tools to do that.

Certainly the most legit challenger to Wlad's throne since Haye. Nevermind the stinkyness of that fight. Hopefully Povetkin comes in top shape and not afraid to twist his small toe *wink*. He's technically sound, and if he comes prepared this might be a good fight.

I have Wlad by UD, but I'll definately watch this one.

Superior in the ring to all others? Maybe, but not in terms of actual boxing skill.
