Bit of digging seems to suggest the footage is from early to mid Nov 2010 - was at a media workout for a Chavez fight on Dec4 2010 which was subsequently cancelled due to an unspecified illness....a somewhat easier opponent was found for Chavez for a late Jan 2011 bout. One can only speculate.

Not much good having your star fighter beaten up by an unknown Kazakh (- GGG was in training for the full WBA title vs Tapia) in front of the mexican media.

There was a thread or two on ESB BTW.

That's the special bit - it was Chavez' own media workout for a fight 'gainst Alfonso Gomez (who was injured and replaced by the also decent Pavel Wolak -) then Jr 'got a fever' and next fought the far less challenging Billy Lyle in January. It had been supposed to be Jrs 'step-up fight.

Way to go Jr- getting bossed at your own media promotion

No challenge for GGG. Literally none.
