Comments Thread For: Bradley: Marquez's Age Will Get Him Down The Stretch

WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (30-0, 12KOs) expects the age of Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs) to catch up with him in a tough twelve round fight. Bradley plans to stay on top of Marquez for the entire fight and feels the 40-year-old veteran will start to fade in the later rounds. The fight takes place on October 12th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Did Marquez slow down in the Third Pac fight? I remember he started strong

I don't like Timmy's mindset, even though I agree with him. I never like to hear a fighter banking on his opponent being at less than his best. That's almost like he's admitting that the other guy's best is better than his best. That said, JMM looked like the age was getting the better of him in his last fight. And even though Bradley isn't a defensive wizard, he won't be tripping over JMM's feet running face-first into an overhand right.

I don't remember Manny tripping or running into Marquez's right hand when he scored the first kd.

Why would he be tripping on his foot? He's a orthodox fighter

            It was a joke.

No, but JMM pretty much lost every moment of the fight outside of the KD and KO. He did land the exact same punch that eventually iced Pac several times tthroughout the fight. But for the most part, I thought Pac was clearly in control.

In the last 24/7, Bradley talked about having slurred speech for two months after the Provodnikov fight. I've got a bad feeling the JMM is going to do some permanent damage to youngster. After a few rounds of getting nailed with that cross, which regularly pops speed bags, dudes gonna be in bad shape.

Pacquiao probably gets the winner of this one. I'd love to see Cotto get a crack at the loser. He'd probably have to be willing to come down to at least 150 to make it happen though.

I guess it is possible given JMM's age but I don't think that Bradley is really the sort of fighter that makes a guy get old mid fight.
