Chavez has been selling PPVs long before he even appeared on HBO. And he's more popular today post-HBO even with the recent controversy. It doesn't even have to sell that well to match an HBO paycheck. 100k would be a success and Chave has done like 90k with the Latin Furys.

Chavez Jr was doing more than 100k PPV buys with those 8 rounds fights he had on "Latin Fury", and he did all by himself 500k PPV Buys (Same as Cotto-Margarito 2) against Sergio Martinez (one of the boxers with the lowest ratings on HBO Boxing history.
He has the biggest ratings on cable tv.. (Bigger than Marquez,Canelo,Cotto,Broner, etc.) If HBO doesn't buy this fight, they are going to lose probably their BIGGEST rating of the year..Comment

Uuuuh....I beg to differ....
I'm one of 'em and my response to purchasing a ppv to watch this disgrace-to-the-sport that is Chavez, Jr. is "**** that puto!"Comment

Imagine Arum putting the rematch on PPV.
Imagine Vera outworking Jr. and the judges giving the fight to JCCJR again.
It's not hard to imagine. This is boxing after all.Comment

Lol I feel u dawg but u and I kno they're thousands of other Mexicans that will support him regardless. I was looking at his past PPV numbers when he was doing 8 rounders and he did a few hundred racks. I think it's a joke too but unfortunately he does have a following.Comment
